Amanda Ryder started MJ Ryder from her dining room table in 2006. Nearly twenty years later we're a settled team of heating engineers working out of Unit 1 Stoneacre in Knaresborough, looking after homes across Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Wetherby and the villages around them.
We install and service gas boilers, fit air-source heat pumps and air conditioning, power-flush tired systems and upgrade controls — and we've trained six of our engineers in-house, roughly one a year. We never sub-contract our installation work, so the person in your home is one of ours, working to our standard.

Installed by our own engineers
Your job is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer from our own team — never a sub-contractor. A straight boiler exchange is usually a day; a combi conversion around three.

Guaranteed & backed by after-care
Eligible installs carry an up-to-10-year guarantee, and our Heat Plan cover means there's always an engineer at the end of the phone. As one customer put it, the after-sales care is "second to none."

Based in Knaresborough, at home across Harrogate & North Yorkshire.
We cover Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Wetherby, and the surrounding North Yorkshire villages — Boroughbridge, Spofforth, Follifoot, Pannal, Bishop Monkton, Killinghall and more. From our Stoneacre base in Knaresborough we can be with most local customers quickly, and Heat Plan members get priority call-outs seven days a week.
